To involve the participants to the discussions, the event is organised in various sessions. The first one in the first day will focus on introducing the results of the interim evaluation in an interactive way. In addition, round-table discussion sessions will be held with a panel of experts giving their advice and experiences, taking questions from the audience as well as posing questions to them. Smaller groups will have the opportunity to discuss and focus on issues of great interest. The organisers will also provide networking opportunities to the interested participants.

Mr. Stefano Carosio is a chemical engineer at D'Appolonia SpA. His area of interest is Innovation and Research Management. He started his experience with EC FP projects in 1997, receiving approval on his first CRAFT proposal under FP4. Since than he has been involved in more than 100 FP projects (with a proposal approval rate around 70-80%), has developed vast experience in project management of small and large scale collaborative projects, as well as developed a large network of contacts including with high tech SMEs, large corporations, and research centres.
Mr. Epaminondas Christofilopoulos, having a background in Physics and Environmental Studies, Epaminondas have initially worked in the field of environment before moving to the consulting sector and especially innovation and technology transfer. Since 2004, he initiated a new office activity focused on international cooperation and since then has co-ordinated several projects and tenders in Eastern Europe, Asia, the Gulf peninsula and Central America. Since 2010, Epaminondas is a founding member of the Greek Node of the United Nations Millennium Project, a worldwide network coordinating futures research and foresight studies.
Dr. Stefania De Zorzi has 10 years experience in managing research project in ICT, Geomatics and Environmental modelling. Prize-winner of the international Geospatial Achievement Awards as a developer of innovative, technologically advanced mapping and geospatial soultions in 2005 in San Francisco USA. During 2007-2010, project coordinator of the European GIS4EU project (econtentplus funding program). Collaborate with University Ca' Foscari in Venice and also a member of research networks related to ICT and environment fields. CEO of Enterprise Solutions Geoteam and researcher in geomatics and geospatial field, in particular on the Venice Lagoon.
Mr. Joe Gorman is a senior researcher in software engineering at SINTEF, an independent research institute carrying out contract research. He has also worked in research administration (as a Project Officer employed by the European Commission), in the software industry (database company), and in University teaching & research. He has extensive experience in EU-funded research projects in all roles: project participant, project coordinator, project reviewer, proposal evaluator.
Mr. Gabor Kitley is the co-founder and CEO of Europa Media. He is currently managing 6 FP6/7, LIFE-III and Leonardo da Vinci projects and is also negotiating new projects under FP7. He is a Master of Environmental science (geologist-hydrologist) by education and has a post-graduate degree in European environmental law. His experiences cover the following fields: financial and technical project management, regional development, waste-water treatment and management, waste recycling, GIS, decision-support systems, sustainable tourism, CSO capacity building, etc. www.europamedia.org
Mr. Giuseppe Saija is a senior consultant with 12 years experience in European funding to research and innovation for SMEs. He has worked as Head of business development for Teseo in Brussels and is now managing director of Euknow, European knowledge. Giuseppe has assisted dozens of European SMEs accessing financing for R&D activities throught the 5th, the 6th and the 7th Framework Programmes. He has also managed several international cooperation projects especially in India and the Western Balkans. More recently he has been active in new instruments devised by the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (Eco-Innovation, ICT PSP) to support the transfer of research results to markets. He assists local and regional clusters in the development of innovation support programmes and schemes.
Mr. Theo Stamatiadis is an Attorney-at-Law specialising in Intellectual Property management, research grants and procurement contracts. He studied Law at Democritus University (Komotini, Greece) and holds a Masters in Communication Law (Toulouse, France), as well as a Masters in Legal Linguistics (Cergy-Pontoise, France). As legal expert of the IPR-Helpdesk project, Mr. Stamatiadis has been providing legal assistance to participants
in FP7 projects for several years. In his current work as (private research centre established in Barcelona, Spain) and for the biotech company Aromics, Mr. Stamatiadis is responsible for tasks encompassing IP management and technology transfer, as well as for the legal follow-up of numerous R&D projects and business collaborations. He also provides legal support to other public and private research organisations through the company Theia Innovation Consulting.
Mr. Brian Warrington has a degree in engineering from the University of Malta and a PhD from Liverpool University. He has spent most of his career working in the field of ICT both in private industry as well as in the public sector, where he has held a number of senior management positions. As head of the MCST he performed the role of FP7 National Coordinator for Malta, and led the organisation's participation in over 20 FP7 projects in a number of areas including science policy and foresight. He has worked for the European Commission as an evaluator for the FP7 and CIP programmes, and was the rapporteur of the interim evaluation of the FP7 international cooperation activities. |
