Meet the experts and lecturers coming from the top 50 organisations (industry and academia) participating the 7th Framework Programme.
FP7 Evaluation conclusions
It is a fact that some of the best ideas will never receive funding. Every year thousands of excellent ideas are turned down because the proposals are inadequately developed. Evaluation is generally considered fair with good quality, but all procedures can be improved.
And what about the proposals that are positively evaluated? Each year hundreds of European project managers and researchers realise the hard way that winning a European project is actually only the beginning. Grant Agreements are lost during negotiations and cost statements are rejected due to mistakes that could have been avoided by proper project management.
2-day Conference and Networking Event
The Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) is Europe's main financial instrument for achieving the Lisbon Agenda's goals of growth, competitiveness and employment. It is a key pillar for the creation of a single European Research Area (ERA). The facts are impressive: Over 50 Billion EUR of funding spanning over 7 years.
On November 12th 2010 the Evaluation Expert Group published its final report on the Interim Evaluation of the Seventh Framework Programme and it stated "an interim evaluation has a vital role to play in taking stock, in putting forward proposals for the remaining years of FP7 and in drawing out lessons that can feed into the planning - already in its early stages - of a successor programme."
The conference package includes the sessions, conference materials, hardcopy and an electronic copy (pen-drive) of the presentations, Who-is-Who, Hitchhikers' Guide to FP7, coffee breaks and lunches for the two days.
Social events are also included. We invite all participants to a cocktail on the 15th June 2011 at the Hotel Helia and a boat trip at the end of the first conference day (16 June 2011). Accommodation is not included, but options are provided under Budapest Info and a preferential price has been negotiated for the participants with Danubius Hotel Helia (the conference venue).
