Dear Reader,

In the last twenty years, two thirds of economic growth in industrialised countries is attributed to research and innovation. This is one of the key conclusions of LAB – FAB – APP: Investing in the European future we want, a report that was recently delivered by a high level group of leading experts on knowledge, innovation and growth in Europe. Discussions continued in Brussels during the Conference “Research & Innovation – Shaping our Future”: read about key results here.

This month, the Commission also launched a public consultation on Health and Care in the Digital Single market: share your opinion here by 12 October 2017, especially but not only if you are a patient organisation, a health and care professional, a public authority, a researcher, industry, investor, insurer or user of digital health tools.

Also in July, the EU has concluded new cooperation agreements on energy with Eastern Partnership countries and with Japan. While the former focuses mainly on energy efficiency, with “a clear programme for cooperation until 2020 and beyond”, the latter aims at establishing a liquid, flexible and transparent global Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) market that is resilient and capable of responding to emergencies.

As new opportunities for research and innovation funding continue to arise, make sure your chances for success remain high by honing your proposal development skills and by learning tips and tricks of project management: check our upcoming courses here!
