New EU rules for third-country researchers and students: Council adopts position at first reading
On 10 March 2016, the Council adopted its position at first reading on a draft directive aimed at making the European Union more attractive for students and researchers from third countries. The draft directive's objective is to advance the European Union in the global competition for talent and to promote Europe as a world centre of excellence for studies and training. Highly skilled people form the EU's key asset in strengthening its competitiveness, boosting growth and creating jobs.
START2ACT: New Horizon 2020 Project Aiming to Save Energy at Workplace
Europa Media and Geonardo are excited to announce the official start of the START2ACT project ‘Engaging European Start-ups and young SMEs for Action for Sustainable Energy’ with the Kick-off Meeting that took place in Budapest on March 9-10 2016. The meeting was attended by the representatives of all 11 partners from 10 countries.
START2ACT is a three-year project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, and aims to increase energy efficiency through behavioural change, sowing the seeds of a sustainable energy culture in European start-ups and young SMEs, with a view to achieving potential energy and cost savings.

Countdown to submission – this is what many project managers and proposal writers all over the globe are struggling with continuously. Regardless of the subject, the art of combining scientific excellence with administrative soundness to deliver a winning proposal for a collaborative project is a widely sought skill. There are numerous ways and methodologies to develop project proposals but the time limit set by the funding body is always a challenging and often hindering factor.
